Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. It can cause itching, soreness, and abnormal discharge. It is easily treated with antibiotics.

Treatment & Prevention
Standard treatment: a single, high dose or a short course (5–7 days) of metronidazole as prescribed. Symptoms usually improve within a few days.
