Overview
Period delay tablets allow you to postpone your period for holidays, special events, or other occasions. They contain the hormone norethisterone which keeps hormone levels stable to prevent menstruation.
Understanding Period Delay
Norethisterone maintains high levels of progestogen in your body, preventing your womb lining from breaking down. Once you stop taking it, hormone levels return to normal and your period resumes within a few days.
Treatment & Prevention
Start taking norethisterone 3 days before your expected period. Take one tablet three times daily. Your period will typically start 2–3 days after you stop taking it.
