Overview
Influenza (flu) is a viral infection that affects the respiratory system. Symptoms include sudden fever, aching body, tiredness, and a dry cough. It can be serious for vulnerable groups.
Understanding Influenza
It spreads through droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or touches surfaces. Common symptoms: high fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, persistent cough, and sore throat. Unlike the common cold, flu symptoms appear suddenly and are more intense.
Treatment & Prevention
Treatment options include: Rest & hydration. Antiviral medication such as Tamiflu when started within 48 hours of symptoms. Annual flu vaccination for prevention.
