About Laxido Orange

Laxido contains macrogol 3350 and electrolytes. Macrogol retains water in the bowel to soften stools. Each adult sachet contains 13.125g of macrogol 3350 alongside sodium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate and potassium chloride. This is the 30-sachet presentation, not a paediatric preparation.

How to use it

Dissolve each sachet in 125ml of water and follow the packet or pharmacist's instructions for frequency. Continue your normal fluid intake unless a clinician has advised otherwise. Do not adopt the higher faecal-impaction regimen without a confirmed diagnosis and clinical advice. Keep other oral medicines at least one hour before or after Laxido.

When it is unsuitable

Do not use with suspected bowel obstruction, perforation, ileus or severe inflammatory bowel disease. Seek urgent assessment for severe abdominal pain, vomiting, marked swelling or inability to pass wind. Tell the pharmacist about sodium restriction, heart problems, swallowing difficulties or starch-based fluid thickeners. This preparation is not recommended for children under 12.

Side effects

Bloating, wind, abdominal discomfort, nausea and diarrhoea can occur. Stop and seek advice if you develop swelling, breathlessness, increasing fatigue or signs of dehydration. A severe allergic reaction is an emergency. Persistent constipation needs review, not repeated escalation of laxatives.

Storage and further advice

Follow the supplied pack's storage instructions and expiry date. Keep medicines away from children. This product is optional support, not a routine requirement of weight-loss treatment.
